      NORWICH – John W. Sizer age 99, formerly of Waterbury, passed away peacefully on Monday October 16, 2023 at Norwich Sub Acute Nursing Home after an extended illness. He was the husband of the late Joan Elaine (Manson) Sizer.

      John was born on May 19, 924 in Waterbury, the son of the late Harry and Margaret (Galvin) Sizer. He was educated in local schools and worked for many years as a Pressman for the Waterbury Republican and American. John proudly served his country with the U.S. Navy during World War II John will be greatly missed by all those who were blessed to know and love him.

      Left to honor his legacy and cherish his memory are his grandson Steven Sizer of Norwich and many cousins and extended family members in the greater Waterbury area.

      Funeral services Mr. Sizer will be held on Wednesday, October 25, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. when a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Mary Mother of the Church Parish, SS Peter and Paul Church 67 Southmayd Rd Waterbury. Burial with full military honors will follow in Old Pine Grove Cemetery, Waterbury.
