    1. [S360] Obituary - Hermine (Nadeau) Howard, (Berkshire Eagle).
      CANAAN, Conn. -- Hermine Emma "Min" Howard, 91, of 99 South Canaan Road died early Saturday morning at Geer Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, where she had resided for more than three years.

      Born in Oakville, Conn., on July 28, 1912, daughter of Ludger and Albertine Soucy Nadeau, she graduated from the former Waterbury Catholic High School and Post Junior College. She moved to Marion Oaks, Fla., in 1981 and later to Canaan. She also had resided in Watertown and Salisbury.

      Mrs. Howard was a homemaker. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, crocheting, duckpin bowling and competitive card playing.

      She and her husband, Stewart T. Howard, would have celebrated their 69th wedding anniversary in January.

      Besides her husband, she leaves a daughter, Ruth Ann Smithwick of Salisbury; a son, Richard Howard of Cumming, Ga., five grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

      FUNERAL NOTICE -- A Mass of Catholic Burial for Hermine Emma "Min" Howard, who died Dec. 13, 2003, will be celebrated Tuesday, Dec. 16, at 1:30 at St. Joseph's Church in Canaan. Calling hours before the funeral will be Tuesday from 11:30 at NEWKIRK FUNERAL HOME, 118 Main St., Canaan. Memorial donations may be made to St. Joseph's Church or to Geer Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Interment will be in the spring.
