Daniel T. Taggart "Dan" age 65 of Southwest Philadelphia passed away on April 1, 2023 surrounded by his family.
Born and raised in Philadelphia, Dan graduated from West Catholic High School.
After graduation, Dan enlisted in the U.S. Coast Guard proudly serving from 1979- 1984. He was also a member of the U.S Coast Guard Auxiliary.
He retired from the U.S. Secret Service and formerly worked as Director of Security for the Philadelphia Spectrum, Game Day Security Director for the Philadelphia Eagles on game day and CSC Contemporary Services Corporation.
After 911, Dan was employed as the Transportation Security Manager (TSM) for the US Department of Homeland Security.
He also volunteered for Prospect Park Fire Company as Fire Police.
He enjoyed playing the trumpet and formerly played in the band White Gold Dance Band.
He is predeceased by his wife Greta Taggart
Survivors: Loving father of Christopher (Kristin) Taggart and Ravae (Jeremy) Loper, grandfather of 2, brother of William Taggart and Susan Taggart and several nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral Service: Saturday, April 8, 2023 at 11am at McCausland Garrity Marchesani Funeral Home, 343 S. Chester Pike Glenolden, PA. 19036
Viewing: Saturday, April 8, 2023 from 8:30- 11am at the funeral home.
Burial: Private
