Mrs. Caroline Edwards Worked at Litchfield Post Office
LITCHFIELD - _ Caroline (Murphy) Edwards, 80, formerly of Vanderpol Avenue, died Tuesday, Aug. 27, at Rose Haven in Litchfield. She was the widow of Robert Edwards, a former Bantam Fire Company chief.
Mrs. Edwards was bor Aug. 23, 1922, in Bethlehem, daughter of the late Donald and Anna Howard Murphy. A longtime resident of Litchfield, she graduated from Litchfield High School.
She worked at the Litchfield Post Office and later became secretary of the Litchfield Farm Bureau. She was a member of Bantam Fire Company Auxiliary and enjoyed gardening and dancing.
She leaves a daughter, Diane Tanner of Bantam; and two granddaughters.
Arrangements: Funeral 2 p.m. Thursday at Rowe Funeral Home, 283 Torrington Road, Litchfield. Burial: Bantam Cemetery. Calling hours 6 to 8 p.m. today at her daughter's home, 3 Goslee Road, Bantam.
