- I previously had indicated Stephen Shea + a Galvin as Batt's parents, but, as I have located no sources to back this, I've removed the name. The Griffiths Valuation shows the name Batt Shea with leases in Coomnahorna West (ours), Coad, and Caherdaniel, and there are numerous Sheas in the surrounding townlands. Given the names of his children, it is far more likely that the father was John, Michael, or Denis. There is a Denis Shea (Sr.) living on Rath in the Griffith's Valuations that may be a candidate. There is a John Shea, born about 1770-80 whose descendants are related to people from this tree.
